Beyond These 4 Walls

New Hope’s Next Steps for School Partnerships

In our last newsletter and during our 1st “2nd Sunday” service in September, we introduced our renewed commitment to our community schools. This month and into October, we are working with Nicole Gibbons of East High School to support their efforts to provide students free access to the school barbershop and boutique. Keep reading to see how you can help us partner and provide for these programs that are servicing our local City School students.

Ways to contribute include…

  • Purchase products and bring them to church each Sunday. Check below for the list of supplies! A donation center will be established in the Community Room.

  • Donate online so we can purchase these products, or send a check made out to New Hope FMC. Please mark your donations specifically for this initiative.

  • Become part of a team that works to find these products and get some donated, or purchase them with donated money.

  • Email Pastor Marissa asap so we can be ready for October 9.

  • Help organize all the supplies and plan for our community activity on October 9 during morning service.

  • Volunteer to help deliver supplies.

There are an average of 5 young women who use the Boutique weekly, and the barbershop activity will be increasing as the school year progresses. We’d like to generously help stock their shelves to make sure every young man or woman is able to benefit from this service. Please consider engaging in one of the ways above. Your generosity goes a long way!

Email Pastor Marissa Mattox-Heffernan if you want to engage but are unsure where to start!
